JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Golkar Party DPP Muhammad Sarmuji said the formation of a special committee (special committee) to discuss the issue of bamboo fences in the sea waters of Tangerang Regency, Banten, was not yet needed.

"If so far, we don't see the need to go that far," said Sarmuji as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 22.

According to him, the installation of a 30.16 kilometer long sea fence in Tangerang waters can be completed at the executive level.

He also assessed that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and related parties needed to first identify the matter of the sea fence.

"Only if it is necessary, the results of the identification of the problem are really needed, then we will think there. But until now it doesn't feel like it has," he said.

Nevertheless, Sarmuji appealed to all parties to wait for the results of the deepening carried out by Commission IV of the DPR to the KKP regarding the emergence of the sea fence.

In addition, President Prabowo Subianto has ordered that the sea fence that is spread over the waters of Tangerang be dismantled.

"Mr. President (Prabowo) has ordered that it be dismantled. It shows the president's commitment to environmental planning and partiality to fishermen," added Sarmuji.

Previously, member of Commission II of the DPR Rahmat Saleh proposed the formation of a special committee to investigate the mastermind causing the sea fence on the north coast of the Tangerang area, Banten.

He said the existence of the sea fence on the coast of Banten had caused a commotion in the public.

Not only will it affect various wild issues, but the sea fence will also erode public trust in the government in terms of granting permits for the management of marine space, land, and law enforcement.

"This marine hashtag has become a very public concern and caused a commotion. Luckily President Prabowo immediately ordered the demolition so that the intention of making the sea fence was broken," said Rahmat.

According to him, the statement by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the Nusron Wahid National Land Agency, which acknowledged the mysterious 30-kilometer sea fence in Tangerang, has been certified as Building Use Rights (HGB), has clearly proven violations of marine management for business purposes.

This, he said, was reinforced by a statement by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono who emphasized that the sea fence in Tangerang waters was illegal.
