JAKARTA - Public policy observer from Trisakti University Trubus Rahadiansyah spoke about the proposed use of zakat funds to support the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program. However, he asked the government to evaluate the regulations.

"Yes, it must be clear, and the target must be clear as well. For Islamic organizations, it means that they must be the poor. Because the At-Tabah letter, mustahik. There are 8 people who receive it, one of which is the poor," Trubus said when confirmed by VOI, Monday, January 20.

He asked the government to be more selective for the targets to be given, if using zakat funds. So that the people who donate do not question the zakats given.

"If the school is poor, it accepts it. But if it's SMA 70 Jakarta, they like Teriyaki, they don't need to accept it. How many people just need to map the poor people's schools. So if they are rich, they don't need to," he said.

Moreover, Trubus also suggested that not only Islamic organizations be involved, because according to him there are several other organizations that are not from Islam.

"Policies that must be placed in the interests of the state. If the MBG is indeed a national program, yes, it means that these mass organizations, including Baznas, must be involved. Not only Islam, there are many others, yes, they must also be involved who are Catholics who are from Christianity," he said.

As is known, the Chairman of the DPD RI, Sultan Najamuddin, proposed that the MBG program also utilize funds from zakat contributions. This proposal arises because the National Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) of IDR 71 trillion for MBG is estimated to be insufficient until the end of the year.

Therefore, a funding scheme for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) emerged in various regions for the MBG program using various sources of funds. Some of the sources of funds in question are the APBN and Village Funds.
