JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Prof. Dadan Hindayana said as of January 17, 2025, there were 238 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) operating to meet free nutritious food (MBG) in 31 provinces.
Dadan said that of that number there are around 650,000 children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers who enjoy free nutritious meals.
"This continues to grow every time so that God willing, during January to April, it will serve 3 million more in April, and until August it will serve 6 million," said the Head of BGN during a press conference reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 17.
In realizing this, President Prabowo also summoned ministers and heads of institutions for this afternoon's meeting at the Presidential Palace.
In front of his assistants, the President emphasized that all ministries/agencies, central governments, local governments, the TNI/Polri, must work together to realize MBG, especially in areas where their children have not received the benefits of eating this nutritious.
"Mr. President wants this program to really cross sectors, and work with each other," said the Head of BGN during a press conference.
The President also expressed his anxiety about reports to him, especially regarding children who have not received free nutritious meals.
"This is one thing that disturbs his broth so that we are gathered to accelerate what needs to be done, and cross-sectoral," said Prof. Dadan.
