The Search For The Brigadier General Of The TNI's Car That Fell Into The Waters Of Marunda Is Hampered By Visibility

JAKARTA A joint team that conducted a search for a car driven by Brigadier General (Ret.) Hendrawan Ostevan experienced a number of difficulties.

The incident occurred when Brigadier General Hendrawan plunged into the sea from the Marunda pier. One of the main obstacles faced is limited visibility.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Resmob of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Ressa Fiardy Marasabessy explained, "The search is difficult because the sea currents are very strong and visibility is very limited, only about one inch", said Ressa, Friday, January 17.

With a visibility of less than 20 centimeters, the dive team had difficulty finding a Toyota Vios car that was thought to be on the seabed.

Bad weather also worsens search conditions. Recently, Jakarta has often been raining, which also affects visibility and diving conditions.

"The weather is also an additional obstacle," added Ressa.

The search for cars aims to find clues, such as cell phones or other items, that can help reveal the motive behind Brigadier General Hendrawan Ostevan's death.

Based on preliminary information, the victim's cellphone is thought to be in the car, but so far it has not been found.

CCTV footage shows that on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at around 00.35 WIB, Hendrawan Ostevan was seen entering the pier area of PT KCN Marunda by driving a Toyota Vios car. The car followed Kade 07-08 until it reached the end of the pier before plunging into the sea.
