JAKARTA - Constitutional Justice and Spokesperson for the Constitutional Court (MK) Enny Nurbaningsih said the examination of Constitutional Justice Ridwan Mansyur at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was not related to the Constitutional Court.

"It's true, this morning he was asked for his statement as a witness at the KPK and it was only about an hour, so it wasn't long. There was only one hour of information that he (Ridwan Mansyur) asked for and it had nothing to do with the Constitutional Court at all," said Enny as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 16.

Enny also dismissed the assumption that the examination was politically charged. The reason, he said, was that the KPK's examination of Ridwan was not related to cases handled by the Constitutional Court, including disputes over regional head elections that were currently rolling.

According to him, KPK investigators examined Ridwan about the Supreme Court (MA), the institution of origin of the constitutional judge.

"Maybe there is a connection, he said, with what happened at the time in the Supreme Court So, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Constitutional Court, nothing at all. That's what he had already told me. I think it's clear, "said Enny.

According to Enny, the examination of Ridwan Mansyur was a delay from the summons some time ago.

"It's been a while (his summons), maybe a week ago," he said.

Ridwan was only able to fulfill the KPK's summons this Thursday because he was previously busy hearing the election dispute case in panel 2 of the Constitutional Court with a preliminary examination agenda.

"We are full (full) once and can only be fulfilled when the panel 2 trial happens to be off (not trial) today. So, he asked the KPK for time, 'What about today only?' Because the panel 2 trial is off," said Enny.

Ridwan Mansyur was seen visiting the KPK's Red and White building on Thursday morning. He was examined by KPK investigators as a witness in one of the cases handled by the KPK.

"It is true that he was examined as a witness," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika confirming.

According to the information gathered, Ridwan Mansyur was examined as a witness in the alleged corruption case with the defendant former Secretary of the Supreme Court Hasbi Hasan.

In this case, the KPK also named Hasbi as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering. The determination of the suspect was part of the development of an investigation into the alleged bribery case management case within the Supreme Court.

It is known that Ridwan Mansyur is a constitutional judge who comes from a judicial element. Ridwan Mansyur had previously served as a clerk of the Supreme Court.
