Police Find Sajam While Securing 4 Suspected Provocateurs In South Lampung PTPN VII Land Execution

LAM, PUNG - Four people suspected of being provocateurs were arrested by the police during a tense demonstration during the execution of land belonging to PTPN VII in Sidosatri Village, South Lampung Regency.

They were secured by the police when they were about to block heavy equipment vehicles from entering the area of land execution belonging to PTPN VII.

South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin said his party arrested the four people for carrying a sharp Badik type weapon in the middle of land execution.

"The evidence that we also secured was in the form of a badik with a length of about 20 centimeters along with a sarong and a bag belonging to the party we secured," he said in Kalida, Antara, Tuesday, January 14.

In the action, it was seen that someone provoked him, then took sharp weapons, then invited him to commit violence. Yusriandi emphasized that the four people were not residents who lived in the execution site. In fact, they are from outside South Lampung.

"They tried to fight back and hinder the execution. When examined, they found the sharp weapon, then secured it," he said.

The four people who were detained are still witnesses. They face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, in accordance with Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning the misuse of firearms and explosives.

"For possession of these sharp weapons, they can threaten the safety of officers in the field as well as local residents," he said.

For this incident, his party regretted their actions. The reason is, in the execution, the police were not equipped with weapons.

"We are soft. The officers are also not equipped with weapons at the time of the execution. We prioritize a humanist attitude. Thank God, everything went smoothly," he said.
