Lawyer Leaks Hasto Will Be Examined By KPK Again

JAKARTA - The legal team of the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto, Maqdir Ismail, said that his client's examination regarding the alleged bribery in the management of the interim replacement (PAW) for members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation will be rescheduled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). However, he did not specify the exact time.

This statement was conveyed by Maqdir after Hasto underwent examination as a suspect at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. The politician was questioned for about 3.5 hours or from 10.00 WIB to 13.20 WIB.

"Further examinations will be carried out in accordance with the needs of the investigators," said Maqdir, Monday, January 13.

Meanwhile, regarding Hasto's investigation, Maqdir did not want to talk much. "Please ask the investigators," he said.

"Because this is our agreement with investigators. We only conveyed that Pak Hasto was being investigated for two cases, namely the bribery case and the case obstructing the investigation," continued the lawyer.

Maqdir ensured that his client would follow all legal processes in this case. Including attending the next summons has been submitted.

"The next examination, of course, we will follow it according to the needs of the investigators," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasto made no statement. He chose to remain silent and rushed with the legal team accompanying him.

Previously reported, the KPK developed a case of alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members involving former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were named as new suspects, namely Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah, a PDIP cadre as well as a lawyer.

Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction case of the investigation. He is suspected of obstructing the legal process by asking Harun Masiku to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
