A TNI member stabbed two residents who were returning from a circumcision event on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Purwosari Village, North Semarang District, Semarang City, Central Java, Sunday, January 12 at around 02.40 WIB.

The two victims were named Khoirul Muslimin (27), a resident of North Semarang, and Syarif Abdulloh (25), a resident of Genuk District, Semarang. As a result of being stabbed by TNI soldiers, the two residents are critical and are still being treated in hospital.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Semarang Police, Iptu Kumaidi, said that the perpetrator of the stabbing was one person and had surrendered himself to the local police. The case is now being handled by Denpomdam Diponegoro.

"We have arrested the perpetrator of the stabbing one person. The perpetrator went to (hand himself) at the (Polsek) office this morning. But we handed it over to Denpom, handling the case in Denpom," said Kumaidi.

The stabbing by TNI personnel began when the two victims and their friends attended a circumcision invitation at Brati Village, North Purwosari Semarang, Saturday (11/1/2025) at around 23.00 WIB.

When they returned home, they stopped in front of the Kampung Brati alley, Jalan Imam Bonjol. Then came the perpetrator who claimed to be a member of the TNI asking the residents to disperse.

The perpetrator's friend apologized to the victim while saying that the perpetrator was drunk. Suddenly, the perpetrator approached and stabbed Khoirul.

After that, the perpetrator ran towards the Queen city basement and was chased by Syarif and his friend. Arriving in the basement, Syarif was also stabbed by the TNI personnel.

Syarif shouted for help from his friend and was taken to the Wiloso Hospital, Doctor Cipto Semarang, for treatment.

The victim's family has reported the incident to the Semarang Police. It was later discovered that the perpetrator was a TNI person.

Iptu Kumaidi was reluctant to reveal the case of stabbing residents by TNI personnel because the investigation into the perpetrators is now being carried out by Denpomdam Diponegoro.
