Deputy Chief Of Police Of Kaltara Ensures Readiness Of TNI-Polri Personnel To Secure Christmas-New Year

TANJUNG SELOR Ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations, the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) held an Apple for the 2024 Kayan Candle Operation Forces.

Wakapolda Kaltara Brigadier General Soeseno Noerhandoko directly led the apple accompanied by Assistant 1 of the Kaltara Provincial Government H. Datu Iqro Ramadhan. The apple was also attended by the Kaltara Provincial Forkopimda ranks and the main officials (Pju) of the Kaltara Police.

Wakapolda Kaltara Brigadier General Soeseno Noerhandoko said the troop deployment was to check the readiness of TNI-Polri personnel and infrastructure (Sarpras) to secure the 2024 Christmas Celebration and 2025 New Year.

The implementation of the 2024 Candle Operation will last for 13 days from December 21, 2024 to January 2, 2025.

"This operation is a centralized operation involving 141,605 joint personnel consisting of 75,447 National Police personnel, 13,826 TNI personnel and 52,332 from personnel related agencies throughout Indonesia," said the Deputy Chief of Police.

He explained that the National Police through the Korlantas together with the Directorate General of Hubdar, the Directorate General of Hubla and the Directorate General of Highways issued a Joint Decree (SKB) which regulates the operational restrictions on freight transportation, the implementation of traffic engineering.

The SKB also regulates sea crossings, delaying systems and buffer zones, temporary suspension of construction and closure project work and temporary transfer of vehicle balance locations.

"We have instructed sterilization and security places of worship for Christians who celebrate Christmas, by involving religious organizations. In addition, routine mapping and patrols are also carried out by involving a self-care committee to anticipate conventional crimes," said the Deputy Chief of Police, Friday, December 20.

The joint team also took steps to anticipate potential extreme weather vulnerabilities through collaboration with the TNI, Regional Government, BMKG and related Stakeholders. Including carrying out monitoring of food security and availability as well as fuel (Bakar Oil Fuel)," he continued.

The Deputy Chief of Police explained that the peak of the homecoming flow is expected to occur on December 21 and 28, 2024, while the peak of backflow is predicted to occur on December 29, 2024.

"People are expected to be aware of various potential vulnerabilities in both crossings, toll roads and arteries as well as passenger densities in public transportation to densities in tourist allocations," he explained.

The wakapolda emphasized that Christmas and New Year celebrations are a national agenda that is routinely carried out every year.
