PDIP Calls Central Java Still A 'Bull Kandang'

Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Deddy Yevri Hanteru Sitorus said Central Java was still a "bullet cage" or province with a voter basis for his party because it reflected on the results of the 2024 Pilkada.

Deddy said that the candidate pair in the election for Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Java Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi who was promoted by the PDI-P managed to gain around 40 percent of the votes.

"This figure is around twice the total votes obtained by the PDI-P in the General Election of Members of the Central Java Provincial DPRD 2024," said Deddy at the PDI-P DPP Office, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 1.

The PDI-P's acquisition in the 2024 Central Java Provincial DPRD Member Election ranged from 25.6 percent. Thus, bull voters still remain loyal to the PDI-P because the figure is almost double the election for legislative members (pileg).

"That is proof that Central Java is still home to the Marhaens," he said.

In addition, Deddy also reviewed the PDI-P vote acquisition at the district/city level regional elections. This party won 19 out of a total of 35 regencies/cities throughout Central Java.

"This means that 54 percent of districts/cities in Central Java that hold regional elections still choose bull cadres. So, we thank Central Java, it is proven that trust in the PDI-P is still high," he added.

On that basis, Deddy is optimistic that Central Java is still home to the Marhaens, namely people who believe in the values of Marhaenism, an ideology developed by the first president of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno.

Meanwhile, PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol won regional elections in 14 provinces and 247 districts/cities.

Hasto said that the PDI-P had won the provincial-level elections in Aceh, Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, Bangka Belitung, DKI Jakarta, Bali, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Papua, Central Papua, Papua Mountains, South Papua, and West Papua.

He interprets the victory as a form of nursering bull cages in various other provinces in Indonesia.

"We know that with the results of this election, it turns out that there is a dream in the cages of the bulls elsewhere. Even in Riau, PDI-P won the first time for legislative elections and also for the election of governors and deputy governors. This shows a phenomenon," he said.
