This mutual accusation began when the prosecutor questioned Pinangki's opinion about Rahmat's statement saying that he was the one who asked to meet Joko Tjandra.

"So now Pak Rahmat testifies to the contrary, that the witness asked Rahmat to meet or introduce the defendant ?," said the prosecutor at the trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 7.

Pinangki strongly denied this. He said, it was Rahmat who invited and persuaded himself to meet Joko Tjandra.

"I stick to my statement that was conveyed by the court at that time. That it was Pak Rahmat because I also did not know that Pak Rahmat knew Pak Joko, so he invited me at that time," replied Pinangki.

Pinangki said that at that time Ramhat asked him to help Joko Tjandra. This is because Joko Tjandra wants to avoid being executed for the Bank Bali cassie case and returning to Indonesia.

"The reason is because according to Pak Rahmat, Pak Joko was willing to surrender so in the process he needed a laywer. That's what I conveyed in court," said Pinangki.

Meanwhile, Rahmat, who was asked by the prosecutor to respond to the testimony, said that Pinangki was the one who asked him to introduce Joko Tjandra. At that time, Pinangki asked to be introduced to Joko Tjandra.

In addition, Joko Tjandra never asked him directly to help with the Bank Bali cassie problem.

"I stick to my statement because Pak Joko Tjandra has never asked me for help on a case. So I, someone who wants to meet, I give Pak Joko Tjandra," said Rahmat.

"Pak Joko Tjandra wanted to meet, so I just met. Pak Joko, Pak Rahmat, helped me with legal matters. No, never," he continued.

Rahmat admitted that Joko Tjandra had indeed asked him to help with the case he was experiencing and would not appoint Pinangki. The reason is, there are still many great people who can help Joko Tjandra.
