2 Motorcycle Theft Gangs In Tangerang Arrested, 8 Suspects With 3 On The Wanted List

Tangerang Police Satreskrim arrested 8 suspects in the theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor) during the November 2022 period. Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Pol Raden Romdhon Natakusuma said his party was still searching for 3 people whose names were included in the wanted list (DPO).

Each with the initials JC (34), HD (30), DM (32), WE (26), RM (17), AP (24) as the perpetrator of the theft and status of a suspect. Meanwhile, AR (21), HI (32), BM (48) as a DPO," said Romdhon in a written statement, Monday, November 28.

Romdhon also said that his party was still pursuing another suspect, whose identity was known.

"Currently we are also pursuing other suspects whose identities we already know and have been designated as DPOs," he said.

The suspects came from different groups, did not know each other and did different locations.

"The suspects came from different groups and suspects R and M who were still on the DPO committed theft in the parking lot of a restaurant in Sukapeace Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency last Wednesday. The five suspects committed theft by destroying the ignition key by using the letter T key and then selling it to suspect suspect A. Suspect A. sold the motorbike back to suspect DM," he explained.

From the results of the arrests, police officers also secured a number of evidences, namely 13 motorcycles resulting from the crimes of the suspects.

"The suspects R, J, H, and RS were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of imprisonment of more than 5 years. Meanwhile, the suspects DM, AI, DM, and WE were charged with Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 4 years in prison," concluded Romdhon.
