JAKARTA - Head of the Lebak Bulus Sector Fire Department, Ahmad Muhajir, said that there was still one student trapped behind the collapsed school wall.

"We have received information that one (student) student is trapped," Ahmad Muhajir told reporters at MTsN 19 Jakarta, on Jalan Pinang Kaijati, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 6, at 14.00 WIB.

However, he did not know the condition of the students who are still trapped.

"I don't know yet (safe or dead)," he said.

A total of three students of MTsN 19 South Jakarta died as a result of being hit by a school wall. So far, information shows that the cause of the collapse of the wall was caused by the overflowing water of the Krukut river.

Cilandak Police Chief Kompol Multazam said the incident occurred at the MTsN 19 Jakarta School, on Jalan Pinang Kaijati, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 6, at 14.00 WIB.

The incident began when it rained with high intensity in the Cilandak area since noon, so the Krukut River overflowed and pushed the MTsN 19 Jakarta building.

"The road collapsed due to overflowing water which caused flooding. The water pushed the wall down and resulted in injuries and the victim died," said Multazam at the location, Thursday, October 6.

The process of evacuating victims was carried out by firefighters and Satpol PP.

"We work hand in hand with residents to search, maybe there are victims who may still be trapped. Meanwhile, the firefighters are trying to bring in a pump to make sure no more victims are left behind," he said.

The victim has been taken to Prikasih Hospital, Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta. Regarding the number of victims, Multazam revealed that three people died.

"Initial information that there were 3 who died, but from the Cilandak Police Investigation, they still confirmed the data at the Prikasih Hospital. So they still need validation," he concluded.
