KUPANG - The Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has exempted the COVID-19 examination requirements for travelers within the NTT region who have received the COVID-19 vaccine twice.

"Travelers who use air, sea, and crossing modes of transportation within the NTT area who have received the vaccine twice are exempt from the requirements for the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test and antigen swab test," said NTT Governor Victor Laiskodat's Instructions delivered by the Head of the NTT Transportation Service, Isyak Nuka, in Kupang, reported by Antara, Monday, November 22.

He explained that the regulation was issued on Monday, November 22, after the provincial government paid attention to and observed the high demand for transportation services by the people of NTT as an island region.

In addition, the massive increase in vaccination efforts for the people of NTT has a significant impact on reducing the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, and in NTT especially where most of the districts/cities are already at Level 2 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

He explained that travelers using air, sea, and crossing modes of transportation within the NTT region who have only received the vaccine once, are still required to show negative results of the antigen swab test with samples taken within 1x24 hours before departure.

"Travelers are still required to comply with health protocols and fill out e.HAC Indonesia," he said.

"In addition, travelers who use land transportation modes between regencies/cities within the NTT region who have received the vaccine once or twice are exempt from the requirement for the antigen swab test. Meanwhile, those who have not received the vaccine are required to show a negative result of the antigen swab test," he said.

Furthermore, Nuka explained that travelers from outside who entered the entire NTT area and had only been vaccinated once were required to show a negative result of the antigen swab test.

Meanwhile, those who have not been vaccinated are required to show a negative result of the PCR swab test 3x24 hours before departure. "Meanwhile, travelers outside the NTT area follow the terms and conditions that apply in the destination area," he said.
