BPS Brings Good News To The Aviation Industry, People Start Traveling Cause Airplane Ticket Prices Rise
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that there was an increase in air ticket prices by 3.91 percent throughout October 2021. Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said the increase occurred in almost all domestic flight routes.
"Of the 66 cities monitored by BPS, most of them experienced price increases," he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, November 1.
However, Margo noted that cost spikes tend to occur on long-distance traffic lanes.
"For short distances, it actually decreased," he said.
Furthermore, the increase in ticket prices for air transportation is in line with the number of people traveling.
It is stated that the number of airplane passengers in September 2021 is 1.97 million people. This figure has almost doubled from the previous month's book of 1.07 people.
