COVID-19 Update As Of October 28: New Cases 723, Active Cases 12,440

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 259,541 specimens were examined with the result that there were 723 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,242,532 people and 12,440 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, October 28.

Today's recovered cases increased by 984 cases, bringing the total to 4,084,759 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 34 people and a total of 143,333 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 131 cases and a total of 861,235 cases. Followed by West Java with 111 new cases with a total of 705,430 cases. Central Java with 88 new cases and a total of 484,918 cases. Meanwhile, East Java with 71 new cases and a total of 398,076 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Lampung with an additional 136 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 97 recovered cases, Papua with an additional 86 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 79 recovered cases.

Two provinces reported no new cases today, namely Maluku and West Papua. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 46,040,621.

"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 0.49 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 7,248 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 116,620,281 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 71,099,869 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,116,882. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
