Bobby Nasution Reprimands Head Of Education And Culture Office Because Many School Children Don't Wear Masks, Alluding To High School Kids Hanging Out

MEDAN - Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution rebuked the Head of Education Department, Typhoon Ginting. Because many schoolchildren are caught not wearing masks when Bobby goes to the location of the event.

This warning was conveyed by Bobby Nasution when he handed over the Adiwiyata predicate certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) symbolically to three school principals who received the Adiwiyata title, at SDN 060925 (Junior High School), Sisingamangaraja Street Km 5.5 Medan.

"This is the Head of Education, I went here to many schools, there were a lot of junior high school children in front who didn't wear masks. If it continues like that, it's good that we will close again, sir", said Bobby Nasution, Thursday, October 28.

In addition to reprimanding the Head of Education Office, President Jokowi's son-in-law also reminded all sub-district heads to pay attention to the implementation of health protocols in the school environment.

"So in the future, please help, the sub-district please, pay close attention to that. Cook for our younger siblings, our children hanging around in front of someone who is not wearing a mask", said Bobby Nasution.

In addition to junior high school students, Bobby also saw many students in high school clothes hanging out.

"If it's really good to hang out, you don't have to go to school. It's already a limited time for school, there are still those who pull out of school too. Then it's better not to go to school at all", he said.

The Mayor of Medan also reminded the office and school principals to actively monitor their students. Bobby Nasution reminded the dangers that arise if there are students who are infected with the Coronavirus in the school environment.

"Because once infected in this school, it can become a new cluster and create an extraordinary scourge to run the learning system in the city of Medan in the future. Maybe 1 or 2 who are affected, the effects can reach all schools in the city of Medan", said Bobby Nasution.

Bobby Nasution's frustration peaked when he saw a teacher at the event who was also not wearing a mask.

"That's the teacher in the back, too, not wearing a mask. Please note, Mr. Kadis, for the teacher not to take part in the health protocol. Please, we must obey this together", he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Medan City Education Office, Topan Ginting, said that his party would follow up on Bobby Nasution's findings.

"The subdistrict head said that the location had been back and forth, the police chief came to be reprimanded. Later I will order the head of the junior high school, because it is a high school area, right in the province, but that's okay, we will continue to follow up", said Topan.

During the face-to-face learning carried out in Medan, Topan said that there had been no new cases of the spread of COVID-19 in schools.

"There have been no new cases during PTM (face-to-face learning) until today there has been no report, it's been three weeks since PTM has been opened for junior high schools, no clusters have been found in schools", said Topan.
