Gesits Electric Motors Sold 4,000 Units
JAKARTA - GM Sales and Marketing of PT Wika Industri Manufaktur (WIMA) Abdullah Alwi said that up to now 4,000 units of GESITS electric motorcycles have been sold.
"So far, we have delivered 4,000 units, from the beginning to the present," Abdul said in Bogor, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 27.
Abdul said that most of the consumers of GESITS electric motorcycles are still in the Java Island area. However, the distribution of sales in general has covered almost all of Indonesia.
In addition, he said, electric motorcycles produced by the nation's children have also been distributed to a number of corporations and ministries.
"Corporations that are quite dominant are PLN, Telkom, Petrokimia Gresik, and Wika itself. Ministries have used us a lot," he said.
Abdul added that PT WIMA has a production capacity of up to 200 GESITS electric motorcycles per day. But currently, he said, the amount of production is adjusted to the existing demand.

Meanwhile, the President Director of WIMA, M. Samyarto, said that currently WIMA produces around 60 units of GESITS electric motors per day.
He said the COVID-19 pandemic, which had soared some time ago, also affected the decline in production. However, he is optimistic that GESITS production in the future will increase.
"We will increase production, maybe yesterday because of COVID-19 we decreased a bit, but this month there has been an increase. We hope that the target is to reach 7,000 this year," said Samyarto.
It is known, that the GESITS electric motorcycle first launched at the 2019 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Currently, GESITS only sells one type of electric motorcycle which is priced at Rp28.7 million.
However, Samyarto said that in the near future his party will launch two new variants of the GESITS motorcycle at a more competitive price.
"God willing, hopefully early next year or late this year we will also have a new product launch, it will be slightly different (with the current one). For more competitive prices. We will wait for the launch," he said.
