Transjakarta Ensures The Bus That Involved In Accident In East Jakarta Is In Good Condition, Last Maintenance Was October 5th
JAKARTA - PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta) confirmed that the bus that hit the Transjakarta bus in front of it was still operational before the accident occurred on Monday, October 25.
This is stated in the PT Transjakarta report document to the DKI Transportation Agency regarding the bus accidents with hull numbers BMP-240 and BMP-211.
"The vehicle involved in the accident was operated by operator PT Bianglala Metropolitan, with hull numbers BMP-240 and BMP-211. The vehicle (BMP-240) was declared operational before operating," wrote data presented by PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) in a meeting with Commission B of the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) at the Grand Cempaka Hotel, Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, October 27.
Transjakarta said that the BMP-240 bus had received scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with maintenance guidelines from the brand holder agent (APM).
"The last maintenance activity for BMP-240 was on October 5, 2021," he wrote.
Regarding the BMP-240 bus driver who died as a result of hitting the Transjakarta bus in front of him, it was stated that the driver had a general B2 SIM and a valid driver's certification from National Agency for Professional Certification (BNSP).
Furthermore, Transjakarta claimed to have pushed for more intensive unit checks on bus engine components related to safety in the next week. For example tires, brakes, and other safety equipment.

For information, the accident of two TransJakarta buses occurred on Monday, October 25, early in the morning. As a result of the accident, 33 people became victims. In which, two of them died and 31 people suffered minor and serious injuries.
The accident started when a Transjakarta bus was stopped to drop off passengers at the Cawang Ciliwung Bus Stop. Suddenly, a bus from behind hit a bus that was stopped at a bus stop.
