Taufik urged that the case be continued in the investigation process. According to him, the action against the case must be taken seriously as instructed by the National Police Chief as stated in the telegram (ST) number: ST/2162/X/HUK.2.8./2021.

Taufik assessed that the former Parigi Police Chief used his power to fulfill his sexual needs. Therefore, the act is included in sexual violence.
"This case is sexual violence involving state officials, namely law enforcement officers. There is a use of power relations between the perpetrator and the victim and this can happen anywhere and anytime if we do not immediately make efforts to overcome it", explained the NasDem politician.
"Therefore, it is important to immediately complete the Bill on the Crime of Sexual Violence, which is expected to be able to build a prevention system, support legal action, and provide guarantees for the protection of victims", he continued.
Taufik hopes that this case can be used as evaluation material for the Indonesian Police. He urged the Police to take firm action against members who abuse their authority with severe punishment.
"This case must be able to be a lesson for every law enforcement institution to give strict orders so that its members do not use their authority to make it a power that suppresses or forces others for personal gain, especially by committing sexual violence", he concluded.
