14 Indonesian Migrant Workers From Malaysia Detected By COVID-19 When Entering Nunukan, North Kalimantan, 3 Of Them Are Children
NUNUKAN - A total of 14 Indonesian workers (TKI) who were deported from Malaysia to Nunukan, North Kalimantan were confirmed positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
The head of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit Center for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BP2MI) of Nunukan Regency, AKBP FJ Ginting said, of that number, 3 of them were children, while the remaining 11 were adults.
Ginting added that a total of 193 Indonesian workers were deported from Malaysia to Nunukan. When they arrived at Tunon Taka Nunukan Port on Thursday, October 21, they immediately underwent a PCR test.
"All TKI who were deported from Malaysia to Nunukan Regency have undergone PCR tests in Sabah with negative status. However, the PCR examination by the medical team at Tunon Taka Port turned out to be 14 positive people", he explained, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 26.

The 14 deported TKI concerned were treated at the Nunukan Hospital. For information, data on deportation workers received from the Indonesian Consulate in Tawau last week totaled 197 people, but the results of the PCR test in that country were three people who tested positive and one person had not read the results.
"So the number of Indonesian migrant workers who were deported from Sabah (Malaysia) last week received only 193 people and so far there are 14 positive people", he said.
