Vaccination Achievements In Kupang Baru Regency 43.75 Percent

KUPANG - The achievement of COVID-19 vaccination in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province until the third week of October 2021 for the first dose of vaccination is only 43.75 percent.

"Based on the data we received from the Health Office, the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for the first dose was only 43.75 percent, so the government continues to make efforts to accelerate the provision of vaccinations for the people of the area," said Head of Protocol and Communication Section of the Kupang Regency Secretariat, Martha Para Edes in Kupang, as reported by Antara, Sunday, October 24.

Vaccination coverage for the first dose has been carried out to 123,109 target people or 43.75 percent.

Meanwhile, the second dose of vaccination has been carried out on 59,301 residents with an achievement of 21.07 percent.

Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination for health workers only reached 777 health workers with an achievement of 0.28 percent.

According to Martha Para Ede, the Kupang Regency Government continues to strive to increase socialization and invites all parties in the district bordering Oecusse, Timor Leste to jointly fight the spread of COVID-19 by vaccinating, so that the spread of COVID-19 cases can be controlled.

She explained that the provision of COVID-19 vaccination was continuously carried out at all Public Health Center so that people in remote areas could receive vaccination services.

Even so, added Martha Para Ede, the positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the area have started to slope and currently there are 7 active cases of COVID-19 spread across three sub-districts.

The three sub-districts that still have COVID-19 cases are one person in West Amarasi District, five people in West Kupang District and one person in Fatuleu District.

"This week there were no additional new cases of COVID-19 in Kupang Regency. We hope that the seven COVID-19 patients will recover soon," said Martha Para Ede.
