Anies Baswedan Encourages Cooperatives To Manage Community Economy In Susun Village
JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Anies Baswedan, encourages the function of cooperatives to manage the economy of the community in Kampung Susun Jakarta. This is considered to be able to accelerate the national economic recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was conveyed by Anies Baswedan at the 2021 Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin) national leadership meeting (Rapimnas).
Anies explained that Dekopin's role in developing cooperative functions was vital. Especially for rural areas (rural) which have the main activity of agriculture, including the management of natural resources with the arrangement of the function of the area as a place for rural settlements.
"While we are in Jakarta, we are encouraging cooperatives to manage and regulate economic activities in every Susun Village in Jakarta. This is because cooperatives are usually considered successful in rural areas, so in urban areas we will give an example that cooperatives also have a role in Jakarta," he said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, October 23.

According to Anies, with the support of cooperatives in managing economic activities in Kampung Susun, it is hoped that the economic recovery process will be faster, and cooperatives will grow even faster after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, Anies explained that the cooperative in each of the Flats Villages will consist of all residents. For example, the existence of the Bangkit Mandiri Aquarium Cooperative, where they are given full trust in managing matters.
"Essentially, the building still belongs to the DKI Provincial Government, but we are not dealing with individual houses. We are only dealing with cooperatives whose members are all residents of the flats," he said.
"This is because they take care of everything, from ensuring fees for electricity, cleanliness, clean water, and others. So they live as a community, and that is a real example that cooperatives can play an important role in urban areas," he continued.
