Police Forensic Expert Explains His Findings In Front Of Judges When Checking Cell Phones In Case Of Disabled Regent Of Nganjuk
JAKARTA - The follow-up trial in the case of the inactive Nganjuk Regent, Novi Rahman Hidayat, presented a cyber forensic expert from the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, Adi Setya.
Adi Setya was asked for his expertise in the case of buying and selling the position of the defendant Nganjuk Regent Novi Rahman Hidayat at the Surabaya Corruption Court, Friday, October 22.
In front of the panel of judges led by I Ketut Suarta, Adi was asked to examine evidence in the form of two cell phones that were confiscated by the Criminal Investigation Agency at the National Police Headquarters when they arrested the defendant Novi.
"The Vivo brand cellular phone was confiscated, I found an account with the name Izza. And an iCloud account with the name Novi was also found", he said during the trial at the Corruption Court in Surabaya, East Java, quoted from Antara.
Tis'ad Afriyandi's attorney, who represented the defendant Nganjuk Regent, Novi Rahman Hidayat, asked whether the name Novi found in the iCloud account was his client, and Izza in the account in question was M Izza Muhtadin, Novi's aide while serving as Regent of Nganjuk?
Adi stated that he could not confirm the identity of the two accounts he found.

"I can't explain who the owner of the evidence is. That's the investigator's authority. My job is only related to the data in it", he said.
Tis'ad then asked whether the cell phone contained data on conversations related to requests for money from the Regent Novi or through his aide Izza to other people? "No such conversation was found", said Adi.
The forensic cyber expert from the Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Agency was presented as a witness in today's trial by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
The Public Prosecutor from the Nganjuk District Attorney's Office, Andie Wicaksono, accused Novi of abusing her power, namely intentionally getting money by not carrying out her obligations as Nganjuk Regent in the selection of filling village officials.
Regent Novi Rahman Hidayat became a defendant after being caught by officers from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Police, on May 9, 2021, on suspicion of corruption in the sale and purchase of positions within the Nganjuk Regency Government.
Another lawyer for the defendant Novi, Ade Dharma, told reporters after the trial, that the information from the forensic cyber expert at the National Police Headquarters presented by the Public Prosecutor had actually benefited his client.
"The most important statement at the trial was that he did not find a conversation asking for money from the Regent Novi regarding the case of buying and selling positions as charged by the public prosecutor", he said.
