Al-Istiqamah Mosque In West Aceh Burns, Witness Sees Puff Of Smoke Emerging From The Roof

ACEH - Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) officers managed to extinguish a fire at Al-Istiqamah Mosque, Pasi Jambu Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Friday, October 22 this morning.

"There were no casualties in this disaster, but the entire mosque building was burned down", said the Coordinator of the West Aceh BPBD Operations Control Center, Mashuri, as quoted by Antara, Friday afternoon.

He said the fire accident was known after a resident saw a puff of smoke on the roof of the mosque with the wooden construction.

Residents then tried to extinguish the fire and reported the incident to the West Aceh BPBD, who followed up the report by deploying two fire engines to the mosque location.

Mashuri said that the cause of the mosque fire in Pasi Jambu Village was still being investigated by the police.

However, he continued, based on information received at the location of the incident, the fire may have occurred due to an electrical short circuit.
