National Human Rights Commission Appreciates National The Police in Upholding Human Rights
JAKARTA - Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation of National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Mohammad Choirul Anam appreciated the legal action taken by the National Police against members who violated the law.
According to Anam, the transparency carried out by the National Police (Polri) is important to build mutual accountability between the two institutions (Polri and Komnas HAM) in supervising the enforcement of human rights in the country.
"This is a good spirit and we appreciate and respect it," said Anam, Wednesday, October 20.
Anam also said that the National Police was processing the latest developments of various cases that had gone viral in Indonesia.
"We were given updates on the Tangerang case, the case in Luwu, and so on," he said.
In strengthening the monitoring of human rights in the country between the National Police and Komnas HAM, the Head of the Profession and Security (Propam) Division of the National Police Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo emphasized that the National Police's commitment to maintaining the enforcement of human rights in carrying out the duties and authorities carried out by each member in the field.

This is in line with the ideas promoted by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, namely predictiveness, responsibility, and fair transparency (precision).
"Thus, it is hoped that the police will be more transparent, accountable and professional in carrying out their duties to the community," said Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo.
Until now, reforms in the body of Bhayangkara are still ongoing in the internal police. To achieve this reform, the National Police is open and accepting any input from all parties in order to improve the internal police force.
