Civil Service Police Says 3 Subdistricts In Central Jakarta Are Still Prone To PMKS, The Number Is Increasing

JAKARTA - The rise of people with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) in a number of areas in Central Jakarta has prompted a response from the Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) to take action in the near future.

"Next week we will raid PMKS, we will simultaneously conduct raids," said Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Bernard Tambunan when contacted by VOI, Sunday, October 17.

Bernard admitted, the presence of PMKS in Central Jakarta is currently considered to have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is from community reports asking for control of PMKS.

"We move based on the monitoring and reports of residents," he said.

Later on, the PMKS who have been arrested will be handed over to the Central Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept. for guidance. All PMKS will be taken to the orphanage that has been prepared.

"Currently, the areas where PMKS is still rampant are Tanah Abang, Senen and Cempaka Putih. We will also comb the areas in the sub-districts," he said.

Bernard said the types of PMKS that are often seen in the Central Jakarta area are Pak ogah, silver man, wagon man, ondel-ondel and others. However, other types of PMKS will also be brought under control.
