Milan Vs Verona: Dramatic Win, Rossoneri Top Serie A
JAKARTA - AC Milan won dramatically 3-2 from Hellas Verona in the eighth week of the Italian League at the San Siro on Sunday.
The three goals of the Rossoneri were scored by Olivier Giroud, Frank Kessie and an own Koray Gunter. Meanwhile, two goals from Verona were contributed by Gianluca Caprari and Antonin Barak.
Citing from Antara, Milan is temporarily at the top of the Serie A standings with 22 points. Milan is one point ahead of Napoli, who have yet to play their 8th-week match. Hellas Verona itself is in 12th position in the standings with eight points.
Milan started the game quite badly after conceding in the 7th minute through Caprari's volley after receiving Veloso's pass which tore apart Tatarusanu's goal. Score 1-0 for the visitors.
Milan then tried to get back up, but they were punished by a penalty. Romagnoli was judged to have violated Kalinic and the referee pointed to the spot after reviewing VAR.
Antonin Barak's execution successfully brought Verona 2-0 up in the 24th minute.
Behind two goals, Milan responded with a more aggressive game.
However, the home team found it difficult to create a dangerous chance and the first half ended with a 2-0 advantage for Verona.
At the start of the second half, coach Stefano Pioli made several changes. Daniel Maldini was replaced by Rade Krunic and Samu Castillejo replaced Saelemaekers.
Milan played more aggressively and created several chances.
However, they were only able to score in the 59th minute through Olivier Giroud's header after receiving Leao's cross. Verona is still leading 2-1.
Milan got a chance to equalize in the 74th minute after the referee pointed to the penalty spot for Samuel Castillejo's foul by Marco Davide Faraoni.
Franck Kessie did his job well, he managed to outwit goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo with a low shot. The position is 2-2.
Milan took the lead in the 78th minute after Koray Gunter scored their own goal after mistaking Castillejo's cross. The score became 3-2 for the Rossoneri.
The goal was to close this match and Milan won a dramatic 3-2.
This result brought Milan to the top of the Serie A standings with 22 points. Meanwhile, Verona is stuck in 13th position with 8 points.
