Riding Ayla's Car, Thief In Medan Takes Off Daihatsu Taft
MEDAN - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Medan Baru Police arrested one of the perpetrators of the car theft on Jamin Ginting Street, Padang Bulan, Medan Baru, Medan City. The perpetrator who was arrested had the initials RBS alias Bayu (23) a resident of Medan Marelan.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the New Medan Police, Insp. Irwansah Sitorus, explained that the car theft occurred on Tuesday, October 5 at the house of the victim named Martin Luther Sinuraya (63).
"At that time, the reporter was contacted by his wife and children who said that the car parked in the front yard of the house had disappeared, so that the reporter immediately returned to Medan," said Insp. Irwansah, quoted from a written statement by the Medan Baru Police, Friday, October 15.
When he returned to Medan, the complainant admitted that he had lost his Daihatsu Taft car.
"As a result of this incident, the victim suffered a loss of Rp70 million and then the complainant made a complaint to the Medan Baru Police," said Insp. Irwansah.
From this report, the police conducted an investigation and arrested the perpetrator in Binjai, North Sumatra, on October 7.
"The result of the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he took the victim's car from the front of the victim's house with his three friends with the initials BWP alias Lilik, WP alias Agus, and HS alias Putra by the perpetrator by driving 1 (one) unit of Daihatsu Ayla Car to find the target car to be stolen," explained Insp. Irwansah.
From the interim interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he and his three colleagues had different roles.
"For perpetrator R and perpetrator B, their role was to get out of the car and then damage the victim's car key using a T key and start the car. Meanwhile, the perpetrator with initial W, as the driver, brought the car and the perpetrator initial H played a role in overseeing the situation around the scene," explained Insp. Irwansah.

After successfully carrying out the action, the perpetrator took the car to perpetrator H's house in Langkat. Perpetrator R, according to the police, was given Rp250,000 and promised Rp1.5 million if the stolen car is sold.
“The perpetrators then returned home driving a Daihatsu Ayla car. But while on the way, the perpetrators had an accident. At that time, perpetrator B as the driver fled, while perpetrator R who was sitting beside the driver and perpetrator W sitting in the back was unconscious while at the Sumatra Binjai clinic, "explained the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.
From Ayla's car used by the perpetrator, the police secured 1 Letter T key and 2 plates of the Kijang Krista BK 1350 RE car.
"The perpetrators are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison. Meanwhile, the other perpetrators are still being searched for by officers," he concluded
