The Deputy Governor Of NTB Ummi Rohmi Is Fascinated By Papua, The People Are Friendly, The Area Is Beautiful Like A Small Paradise

PAPUA - Deputy Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, praised Papua Province as a beautiful area like a small paradise that fell to earth.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Governor during a meeting with the Regent of Jayapura, Matius Awoitauw in Papua.

"Papua is full of love, a small paradise that has fallen to earth. NTB and Papua, we are all brothers and sisters", said the Deputy Governor in a written statement in Mataram, Antara, Friday, October 13.

The Deputy Governor has been in Papua since October 10, 2021, to encourage NTB athletes who compete in XX Papua PON.

Ummi Rohmi, her nickname, also praised Papua as a safe place and every corner is a tourist spot.

The community is also considered very friendly, polite, and has a high tolerance. Not only that, according to Ummi Rohmi, Papua is not like most people's perceptions.

To the Jayapura Regent, the Deputy Governor of NTB congratulated the success of the Papua PON. Not to forget, the Deputy Governor also entrusted the people of NTB who currently live in Jayapura-Papua.

"Mr. Regent, we entrust the people of NTB who currently live in Papua, hopefully, diversity will be maintained in the future", said Ummi Rohmi, who was also at the same time as the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

The NTB PON contingent itself managed to break the record by winning 15 gold medals and was ranked ninth nationally at the XX PON event in Papua.

One gold medal was presented by a female runner athlete, Dian Ekayanti, in the 3,000-meter Halang Rintang run, Thursday, October 14, 2021, placing NTB in the 9th best province nationally with 15 gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze medals, bringing the total presented by NTB PON athletes to 38 medals.
