267 Urban Villages In Jakarta Installed Rainfall Measuring Instruments, What's Anies' Goal?
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that currently all urban villages in the capital have been installed with rain gauges. He said this tool is useful for anticipating potential flooding.
He conveyed this when holding the Ceremony of Preparedness for the Rainy Season, at the South Monas Cross Field, Central Jakarta.
"Starting this year, we have rain gauges in all 267 urban villages in Jakarta. So we know exactly what kind of rain conditions are at this time", said Anies, Wednesday, October 13.
In facing the current rainy season, Anies said there are three sources of flooding or fronts that have the potential to hit Jakarta. First, the coastal front, namely rob.
Second, the front from the mountainous area flows through 13 rivers and then enters Jakarta. The third front is local rain.
"We will face these three fronts with three principles, one is alert, two is responsive, three is participating. Hopefully, this will be able to move all elements of society", said Anies.
Furthermore, the former Minister of Education and Culture also conveyed other efforts prepared by the DKI Provincial Government as a form of preparedness for the rainy season.

In addition, there is the delivery of disaster early warning information via SMS Blast in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as a toll-free emergency telephone service at the Jakarta Siaga 112 call center.
We invite all people in Jakarta to anticipate the potential for rainfall. We also need collaborative support from the community to be prepared for the rainy season", he concluded.
