Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Mentors 2.000 Local MSMEs To Advance Class

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution has fostered around 2.000 local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). One of them is done through digitalization training.

"After being technologically literate, we hope that MSME players in this city can advance to class," said Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 13.

Moreover, he continued, since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, MSME actors as one of the main pillars of the country's economy were also affected.

To rise from this impact, Bobby Nasution hopes that local MSME players must be familiar with the digitization system.

In addition, the Medan City Government also conducts marketing guidance so that local MSME players gain insight into product packaging so that the product display is more attractive.

Medan City Government also provides inventory assistance to improve product quality and identify a competitive product aimed at boosting sales.

"Not only coaching and inventory, but also making the Medan City Government a market for MSME players. This is marked by the collaboration between the Medan City Government and MSME actors in the culinary sector," said Bobby Nasution.

Uci (35), an MSME actor in the culinary field, said that the local government's steps were very positive through the digitization program because everyone had to be technology literate.

"Thank God, I have switched to the digital world. Today's technology from the past is certainly different. In this increasingly sophisticated digital era, I must be assisted by the admin," said Uci.

Since turning to the digital world, she has had products, such as juices, cakes, souvenirs, and home-cooked meals, which are sold online.

"Selling this online really helps me a lot," said Uci.
