Mayor Eri Cahyadi Explains Safe Face-to-face Learning In Surabaya
SURABAYA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi explained safe face-to-face learning when he was a resource person in a talk talk with UNICEF.
Eri Cahyadi explained a series of stages in ensuring the safety of face-to-face learning (PTM) for children in the city of Surabaya, starting from vaccinations for teachers and teaching staff, vaccinating children, asking for parental approval letters, to the formation of the School Task Force Student Team.
"We have carried out the stages that are adjusted to the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri). There is an assessment that we are doing, where the government ensures the safety of our children while in the school environment," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 12.
He also ensured that every stage was a form of responsibility of the Surabaya City Government to convince the public, especially parents of students, that all school officials had vaccinated.
"As the government, we assure parents that all school equipment has been vaccinated, then vaccinations for children at the elementary and junior high school levels will also continue to be carried out," he said.
Eri Cahyadi explained that the Surabaya City Government had formed a School Task Force Student Team in charge of monitoring the implementation of health protocols (prokes) in the school environment.
"Every school has a task force for children, even we also provide vests. They are tasked with monitoring the implementation of health programs in schools and reprimanding and prohibiting school residents who ignore health care programs. We are really proud that, for children, they can be a task force to remind each other of their friends," he said. he.
The former head of the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency also assured parents that there were no clusters of virus transmission in schools.
Eri Cahyadi explained that if there are children who are exposed to COVID-19, it can be ascertained that schools are not the only place for COVID-19 transmission.
"Then if there is a child who is exposed, in fact he may also not be exposed at school. But exposed outside school. This must be conveyed that the transmission of COVID-19 does not have to be from the school environment, it can be exposed in other places," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the UNICEF Surabaya Representative Office Ermi Ndoen appreciated the steps taken by the Surabaya City Government to create a PTM atmosphere in the midst of a pandemic that is safe for children.
"UNICEF really appreciates Mr. Eri's steps. The city of Surabaya is also the only city in Indonesia that has a children's task force for monitoring COVID-19 in schools, this is a step from children's participation, so that children participate in monitoring healthy and safe schools, " he said.
According to him, the city of Surabaya has carried out routine monitoring, one of which is following the National Assessment. This proves that all the criteria requested by the ministry can be met in the PTM.
He also appreciated the city of Surabaya for vaccination coverage for educators.
"The mayor said earlier that the teaching staff is 100 percent. Surabaya is also helping agglomeration areas to accelerate vaccination. This will accelerate the readiness of PTM in the city of Surabaya. These things give confidence and trust to parents, that the government is ready to guarantee the existence of PTM limited," he said.
