WADA Says Indonesia Doesn't Comply With Doping, Heavy Sanctions Await
JAKARTA - Indonesia has been declared non-compliant with the enforcement of anti-doping standards by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). This means that Indonesia is not eligible to be granted the right to host a regional, continental, or world championship during the suspension period.
Apart from Indonesia, North Korea and Thailand also suffered the same fate. According to Reuters, Friday, October 8, Representatives from these three countries are not eligible to sit as board members on the committee until their countries are reinstated or for a term of one year, whichever is longer.
Athletes from the three countries will still be allowed to compete in regional, continental, and world championships. However, ironically, their national flag will not be flown other than at the Olympics.
