Palace: Still In Process, Surpres For Commander-in-Chief Candidates Can't Be Surrendered Secretly

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has not yet sent the name of the candidate for TNI Commander in Chief to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto to the DPR until the closing of the recess period. In fact, Hadi will enter retirement next November.

The Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Faldo Maldini ensured that the handover of the presidential decree would be notified to the public when the time came. According to him, the letter related to the name of the candidate for TNI commander in chief is still being processed and cannot be submitted quietly.

"We are just waiting, it is still a process. We are focusing on the national agenda to rise from the pandemic, so the criteria to answer the challenge are important, this was previously not the main criterion. If there are signs, it will be announced immediately, it is impossible to remain silent -Shut up," said Faldo, Friday, October 8.

Faldo said that the schedule for submitting the presidential decree was still waiting for the schedule for the DPR session. Moreover, there is still time until the end of November when Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto enters retirement.

The DPR itself has entered a recess and will again convene on 7 November.

"There is still time to find the best officers who want to sacrifice themselves to bring Indonesia back from the pandemic. This is a tough task," said Faldo.

Previously, Commission I of the DPR estimated that President Jokowi would send the name of the candidate for the TNI Commander in early November or the trial period would begin.

"Later, the surpres will be sent here in early November," said Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, TB Hasanuddin, Friday, October 8.

Commission I of the House of Representatives, he said, would immediately process if the Surpres had entered the leadership table.

"In the second week of November, God willing, we will have a fit and proper test," he said.
