The Smuggling Of Methamphetamine Into Semarang's Kedungpane Prison Is Thwarted By Officers
SEMARANG - The smuggling of 4.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine was successfully thwarted by officers from the Kedungpane Penitentiary Semarang, Central Java.
Head of Kedungpane Semarang Prison, Supriyanto, said the smuggling attempt was revealed when prison officers carried out around-the-clock control around the prison walls.
"While walking around, officers found a package that was allegedly thrown from outside", Supriyanto told reporters, Saturday, October 2.
Supriyanto said plastic packages containing methamphetamine were packaged in 5 plastic clips. The methamphetamine was found around the area that separates the outer wall of the back and the interior of the prison.
The findings, he said, were immediately forwarded to the Ngaliyan Police for further treatment.

According to him, the smuggling attempt by throwing it from outside the prison walls was the second caught this week.
A similar smuggling attempt, he said, also occurred on Wednesday, September 29.
Supriyanto added that the installation of an additional wall on the outside of the prison area was effective enough to thwart smuggling attempts, following the tightening of inspections on items entrusted to inmates.
Currently, he said, the installation of additional walls has been carried out on the north side which is directly adjacent to the public road.
In the future, he said again, the installation of additional walls will be carried out at the rear bordering residential areas.
