The Launch Of Electronic Seals Called Minister Of Finance Sri Mulyani Answers To New Needs
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, said that the launch of the electronic seal or e-seal was able to transform the Indonesian economy towards a better direction. According to her, this step is an important part taken by the government by the rapid development of the digital economy and information technology.
"The emergence of digital technology which is increasingly important in human life, including in economic life, has created new needs for the government, not only in terms of policies and regulations but also in terms of instruments and equipment", she said in a press statement quoted on Saturday, October 2nd.
The Minister of Finance added that the COVID-19 pandemic also accelerated the use of digital technology so that many transactions also switched to digital platforms. For this reason, the presence of electronic transactions results in documents being carried out electronically.
"We also have to prepare the infrastructure and the readiness of the instruments", she said.
For information, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) as the technical executor prepares all readiness from the technical side as well as the application in collaboration with the Public Company for Printing Money of the Republic of Indonesia (Perum Peruri).
Perum Peruri itself was appointed as the legal institution to issue electronic seals as well as physical seals.

Furthermore, the Minister of Finance reminded DGT and Perum Peruri to conduct education, campaigns, and deliver information to the public in the use of this e-seal. The reason is, the electronic seal will improve the experience of sealing in terms of security, convenience, availability, and convenience for the community.
"DGT and Perum Peruri as institutions appointed to produce e-stamp must provide assurance or security and confidence for all users, namely economic stakeholders in Indonesia, the community, the business world, and all institutions including financial institutions involved", said Minister of Finance.
To note, the launch of the electronic seal is a mandate from Law Number 10 of 2020 concerning Stamp Duty.
