Jokowi Shows Off Papua Youth Creative Hub Programs And Facilities With A Budget Of IDR 95 Billion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that the Papua Youth Creative Hub, which will be built and is expected to be completed in 2022, will become a means of developing human resources (HR) in Papua. The cost of building this place reached IDR 96 billion.

This hope was conveyed by Jokowi while reviewing the Groundbreaking of the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura, Papua on Saturday, October 2. This activity was carried out in a series of working visits by President Jokowi before opening the XX Papua PON tonight.

"We hope that later the Papua Youth Creative Hub can become a driving force, can become a center for developing great talents in Papua, become a creative center for young people in Papua in strengthening the existing creative ecosystem", Jokowi said as quoted from a live broadcast on Wednesday. The former Governor of DKI Jakarta explained that later this Papua Youth Creative Hub would have several programs to hone the talents of young people, including those related to entrepreneurship. One of them is creating millennial farmers to building a digital economy.

Moreover, Jokowi believes that there are still many young talents in Papua and West Papua that have not been honed. So, it is hoped that the Papua Youth Creative Hub can overcome this and make honed human resources the future in Papua.

"I think this is the future for all of us, the future of Indonesia, the future of Papua is in the Papua Creative Hub. We hope that by the end of 2022, the institutions will be ready and we hope that very soon we can actually develop human resources. in the land of Papua that we love", he said.

In addition to explaining the program, Jokowi also explained that there are several facilities built at the Papua Youth Creative Hub, namely co-working spaces, digital technology learning rooms, content rooms, product innovation rooms, dormitories, and sports facilities.

"I think it is very integrated and we really hope that this place will become a foundation for the future of Papua and the future of Indonesia in the future, as well as in starting to build start-up companies from this great land of Papua", he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Budi Gunawan, said that the Papua Youth Creative would later be built on two floors. The first floor consists of the lobby, coffee shop, co-working space, library, gallery, minimarket, MSME Store, training room, and worship room.

Then on the second floor, there will be a conventional hall, secretariat office, music and entertainment arts room, language room, coding and programming room, entrepreneurship room, and counseling room in the health sector.

"In this complex, a dormitory building for men and women will also be built, a multifunctional sports field, both indoor and outdoor, as well as a garden", said Budi.

He also explained that there were slight changes to the building design concept. BIN, which became the motor of the building's construction, admitted that it received input from the Papuan community so that the building was round in shape to characterize the integrity of the symbol.

"What was originally (the building, red) was in the form of a semi-circle to become a complete circle with the characteristics of depicting the Honai community, the mountainous community and the sharp, characteristic architecture of the community, to describe the symbol of the integrity of the Papuan people", he concluded.
