Novel Baswedan Et Al Are Expected To Bring The Value Of The KPK To Their New Workplace
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata hopes that the 58 employees who have been dismissed, including senior investigator Novel Baswedan, can bring the values of integrity and honesty elsewhere.
This was conveyed by Alex in response to Novel Baswedan et al who were officially dismissed on Thursday, September 30 yesterday.
"We hope that wherever they will work, the values that have been obtained and experienced at the KPK will also be brought to their new place and can bring changes in the new institution," said Alex in the KPK RI YouTube show quoted Friday, 1 October.
"Or if possible in State-owned Enterprises (BUMN), they can bring about significant changes related to the value of integrity," he added.
Alex does not deny that corruption often arises because of the lack of integrity of state officials. The KPK even has an integrity officer program or assigns its employees to set an example for the application of integrity.

So that by continuing to maintain the integrity value of Novel Baswedan et al in his new place, Alex hopes to become a common force to eradicate corruption.
"If those 57 employees will be able to work in other places and they will bring the values of KPK to their new workplace and bring about change, of course, it will become our common strength in the context of eradicating corruption," he said.
"So eradicating corruption is not only in the KPK but can also be done through other institutions," added Alex.
As previously reported, 58 employees are officially no longer working at the KPK as of Thursday, September 30. They were dismissed because they could not become State Civil Apparatus (ASN) according to the mandate of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.
The employees include senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan and Ambarita Damanik, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum Yudi Purnomo, KPK investigator Harun Al-Rasyid, and dozens of other names.
In addition, there was also a young investigator, Lakso Anindito, who failed after taking a follow-up test because he had just finished his assignment. The KPK argued that they could not become ASN, not because of laws and regulations such as Perkom KPK Number 1 of 2021, but because of the results of their assessment.
Ahead of the dismissal, the National Police Chief admitted that he wanted to recruit 56 KPK employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) to become ASN in the National Police (Polri). This wish was conveyed in a letter to President Jokowi last week and was approved.
There is also the reason Sigit wants to recruit tens of these employees because the Police need human resources to strengthen the line of cracking down on corruption cases. Moreover, the National Police is currently also focusing on handling the COVID-19 recovery.
