When Jokowi-Ahok 'Meet' Again At The Sabam Sirait Residence

JAKARTA - Former Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok met again at the Sabam Sirait funeral home. They returned 'intimate' after 'split' a few years ago.

Their meeting seemed predestined. Because there is no appointment to come together.

The beginning of the meeting was when Jokowi arrived at the funeral home first. He took the time to pay his respects and meet the family of the founder of the PDI Party.

After finishing the funeral, Jokowi immediately left the location. This is when Jokowi met the newly arrived Ahok. Ahok now sits as the President Commissioner of Pertamina. They seemed to be having a conversation.

In fact, after the meeting, Ahok gave a statement that the meeting was not planned at all.

"And today accidentally without an appointment to meet again (with Jokowi)," said Ahok.

This moment also evokes old memories when he and Jokowi were about to run for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta. Where they went to the house of the late Sabam Sirait.

"Incidentally, the first time we nominated the governor and deputy governor with Jokowi, they came here to his (Sabam Sirait) house," Ahok told reporters after visiting Sabam Sirait, Thursday, September 30.

On the other hand, Ahok remembers the figure of Sabam Sirait who has passed away. The founder of the PDIP Party is known as a person who likes to test.

In his memory, Sabam had tested him when he asked for his blessing to enter politics. At that time, Ahok was even ordered to trade by this senior PDIP politician.

"He said this to me. 'What are you doing in politics, he said. Just trade, he said, more money,'" Ahok said.

"If you go into politics, you don't have money. If you want to be honest, it's hard to have money and you are hostile. If you trade, you can be rich. You have talent, he said," he continued, remembering the figure of Sabam.
