Cinta Laura's Words That Made The Minister Of Religion Moved And Almost Cry

JAKARTA - Cinta Laura Kiehl became one of the representatives of the younger generation to express her opinion on religious tolerance in Indonesia at the Religious Moderation Action event. The speech was witnessed by the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as well as the National Police Chief.

The speech turned out to be quite touching for the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas". (Cinta Laura) gave an extraordinary and inspiring speech, not many young people can give and can give speeches with such deep meaning", said Yaqut Cholis Qoumas on the YouTube Pendis Channel quoted Tuesday, September 28.

While joking, Gus Yaqut admitted to holding back tears because he was embarrassed if he was caught crying. "I wanted to cry hearing that, but I was embarrassed that my wife was there", said Gus Yaqut.

"This is extraordinary because I was frank before being assigned by the President here, what Cinta Laura said, I used to speak for hours in front of Ansor and Banser cadres. Tonight, represented by Cinta Laura", he said.

The following is Laura's speech that touched the listeners. "Currently we are in a difficult situation where there is polarization in public opinion. It is clear that there is disagreement about what the state needs for Indonesia to become a strong unit", said Cinta.

"The younger generation has a great desire to promote the culture and identity of the nation. We believe that foreign countries need to see the uniqueness and greatness of this country. But on the other hand, we all still often fight and bring each other down because of differences in race, ethnicity, and especially religion", she insisted.

"Why is it that with the foundation of a country that embraces differences and tolerance, there are still conflicts, what makes religion enable us to forget the core of this nation's identity?", she asked.

"How do we as creatures with limited abilities feel that we have the ability to understand something that is far beyond our capacity? Due to limited understanding and uncritical thinking, people are trapped in a way of thinking where humans humanize God. Feeling entitled to dictate to God, knowing God's will, and feel they have the right to act in the name of God. This is what eventually often turns into a radical trait", said Cinta Laura.
