Police Arrest Gas Cylinder Thief In Action At 7 Locations In Denpasar

DENPASAR - The perpetrator of the theft of gas cylinders that went viral on social media was arrested by the South Denpasar Police, Bali. Perpetrators act in 7 locations.

The perpetrator, named Muhammad Fajar Purnomo (33) from Kendal, Central Java, was arrested at a boarding house on Jalan Pulau Yoni, Pedungan, South Denpasar, Bali.

"Based on the results of the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed theft at 7 different crime scenes in the South Denpasar area", said South Denpasar Police Chief AKP I Gede Sudyatmaja, Tuesday, September 28.

This unemployed man stole at Radit Shop, Pulau Bungin Street, Pedungan, South Denpasar, on Monday, September 20. The perpetrator was chased but managed to escape.

The father of the theft victim chased the perpetrator but was dragged away and suffered a torn wound on the sole.

"With this incident, the complainant lost 2 pieces of 3 kg LPG gas with a loss of IDR 270 thousand. Then he reported the incident to the South Denpasar Police", added Sudyatmaja.

Based on the report, the police conducted an investigation and arrested the perpetrator. There were 14 3 kg gas cylinders which were also confiscated during the arrest.

"During the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed the crime of stealing gas cylinders. The proceeds from the sale of gas cylinders were used for daily needs", said AKP Sudyatmaja.
