Denies Illegal Formula E Interpellation Plenary Scheduling, PDIP: No Rejection
JAKARTA - The schedule for the plenary meeting of the DKI DPRD (Regional House of Representatives) for Interpellation of Formula E has led to a polemic. This schedule is set in a meeting of the DKI DPRD Deliberative Body.
Initially, the interpellation was not included in the agenda list of the Bamus meeting discussion. However, the chairman of the DKI DPRD inserted a discussion on determining the plenary schedule for the interpellation in the Bamus meeting.
The seven factions that rejected the interpellation considered inserting the plenary schedule illegal and violating the rules because it was not included in the previous invitation letter.
However, a member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, stated that the insertion of the schedule did not violate the DPRD's rules and regulations.
"The Standing Orders are drawn up by all factions. According to the Standing Orders, members of the Bamus have the right to submit an agenda at the meeting, outside of the agenda scheduled by the leadership", Gilbert told reporters, Monday, September 27.

Moreover, Gilbert said, there were no objections or objections raised by other faction members regarding the scheduling of the Formula E interpellation.
"Earlier, opinions were asked of those present and there was no rejection. There was nothing arbitrary there, but what happened was that those who were Bamus members representing their factions did not refuse and some were not present at the Bamus meeting earlier", he said.
Based on the information from the DPRD Secretariat, the seven factions did not sign the results of the Bamus discussion which scheduled the interpellation plenary. However, the chairman of the DKI DPRD still knocks on the scheduling.
Previously, seven factions of the DKI DPRD expressed their refusal to attend the plenary meeting to determine the interpellation of Formula E which is planned to be held on Tuesday, September 28 tomorrow.
The seven factions are the Gerindra Party, PKS, PAN, Golkar, Nasdem, Democrats, and PKB-PPP. Deputy Chairman of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, emphasized that the seven factions would not attend the plenary meeting because the agenda was considered illegal.
"Seven factions and four deputy chairmen of the DKI DPRD stated that the plenary meeting held on Tuesday, September 28, was not appropriate to attend because it was an illegal act", Taufik said when met in the Central Jakarta area, Monday, September 27.
The plenary meeting that will be held tomorrow is to determine whether the DPRD will conduct an interpellation or not. Interpellation is regulated in DKI Jakarta DPRD Regulation Number 1 of 2020, specifically in Chapter VIII concerning the Implementation of the Rights of DPRD and Members of DKI DPRD.
Article 120 explains that the right of interpellation is the right of the DPRD to request information from the governor regarding regional government policies that are important and strategic and have a broad impact on the life of society and the state.
