Realme Won The 6th Position In The Ranking Of The World's Best-selling Smartphones In Q2 2021, OnePlus Is Still Left Behind
JAKARTA - Research company Counterpoint has just released data on the best-selling smartphones in 2021. As previously reported, Samsung is still in the first place, followed by Xiaomi, which recently overtook Apple in second.
After Apple, there is also Oppo in the fourth position and Vivo fifth. And in the sixth position, Realme managed to line up in just three years, with total sales of 15 million and 135.1 percent YoY growth in Q2 2021. With this achievement, Realme has succeeded in shifting Huawei's position which previously fell due to being blacklisted in the US.
The journey to 6th in the world does not happen in an instant, in this highly competitive market, Realme continues to develop its products with advanced technology. Including developing markets to 61 countries around the world. Last month, Realme also became the fastest brand to reach 100 million users worldwide, according to data from research firm Strategy Analytics.
"Being the No. 6 smartphone vendor in the world in a short time is a new achievement for us. This is all thanks to user support," said Marketing Director of Realme Indonesia, Palson Yi.
It is known that Realme has a core market located mostly in Southeast Asia, India, Central Asia, and Middle East Africa and is seeing strong growth in Latin America and Europe markets, where it has invested heavily to realize the growth potential in those markets.

Counterpoint Q2 2021 market monitor data also shows that the share of Realme 5G smartphones also grew from 8.8 percent in Q1 to 15.9 percent in Q2, ranking 3rd in the world. And it is claimed that it will continue to grow until the next quarter.
In addition, among the other major OEMs, there is OnePlus, and Lenovo Group is growing the fastest. OnePlus grew by 170 percent YoY in Q2 2021 with its Nord N series performing very well in the North American and Western European markets. While the Lenovo Group grew 110 percent thanks to the success of the Moto E7 Plus in Latin America and the Moto G Play 2021 in North America.
