PANGKALPINANG - The Bangka Belitung Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that six COVID-19 patients died. This brings the total death toll from the coronavirus to 1.372.

"Today, the deceased COVID-19 patient has been buried by implementing strict health protocols," said Secretary of the Babel Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force Micron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, September 23.

He explained that as many as six patients who died from the coronavirus were in Bangka 2, West Bangka 2, Central Bangka 1, and South Bangka 1 patient.

"This month, or starting from September 1 to September 22, 2021, 140 COVID-19 patients died or decreased compared to the previous month," he said.

He said patients recovered from COVID-19 also increased by 157 people with a cumulative 47.923 people spread in Pangkalpinang City 25, Bangka 12, Central Bangka 51, West Bangka 5, South Bangka 20, Belitung 15, and East Belitung 29 people.

Likewise, cases of people exposed to the coronavirus also increased by 81 people spread in Pangkalpinang City 18, Bangka 8, Central Bangka 15, West Bangka 8, South Bangka 5, Belitung 4 and East Belitung 23 people.

"Currently, there are 1.445 active COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing isolation in hospitals, self-isolation, and centralized isolation," he said.

According to him, the decline in cases of people exposed to the coronavirus is inseparable from the hard work of the regional government, task force and the community in breaking the chain of transmission of this coronavirus.

"Currently, the vaccine task force, the centralized isolation task force, the oxygen task force, and the silacak task force continue to intensify their performance to suppress new cases and patients dying from the coronavirus," he said.
