Competing Shopee, Tokopedia Successfully Rules E-commerce In Indonesia
JAKARTA – In Indonesia, there are two e-commerce giants that dominate the country's market share, namely Tokopedia and Shopee. According to a report in the second quarter of 2021, Tokopedia e-commerce managed to dominate e-commerce in Indonesia.
Tokopedia marketplace visitors reach 147,790,000 web visits per month. Meanwhile, Shopee's monthly visitors are still below Tokopedia, which is 126,996,700 web visits.
Previously, Tokopedia was the most visited e-commerce in Indonesia in the fourth quarter of 2019. Tokopedia has also topped domestic e-commerce in the fourth quarter of 2018 to the third quarter of 2019. After that, Tokopedia's position was taken over by Shopee.
Although the web visits are the highest, on the Google Play Store and on the Apple App Store, the Tokopedia application ranks second and fourth under the Shopee application according to a report from iPrice, Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

In addition, iPrice also explained that Tokopedia and Shopee e-commerce have more than 100 million visits per month. The achievements of the two have not been surpassed by other e-commerce in the country. Other e-commerce markets only have under 30 million web visits per month.
Bukalapak is recorded to have only 29,490,000 monthly visits, while Lazada has 27,670,000 visits. Meanwhile, Blibli occupies the fifth position with 18,440,000 visits.
In addition, Bhinneka as electronic e-commerce is under Blibli with 6,996,700 monthly web visits. Below that are Orami and Ralali with 6,260,000 and 5,123,300 monthly visitors. Ecommerce JD.id and Zalora occupy the 9th and 10th positions with 3,763,300 and 3,366,700 web visitors, respectively.
