Google Protests For Having Games Containing Sexual Harassment And Pornography On Play Store
JAKARTA - A game application containing sexual harassment and pornographic content suddenly appeared in advertisements shown to children and teenagers. In fact, the application can be downloaded on Google's Play Store.
In the video ad, the game, dubbed LUV, shows a man taking off a woman's clothes as she falls asleep. A highly inappropriate game available for download from Google's app store is being advertised to children and teens, making the woman in question described as the player's half-sister.
The ad then pulled comments from Florida-based filmmaker Michael McWhorter and posted his comments on TikTok which he later shared on Twitter. McWhorter in his video managed to garner more than 700,000 views with thousands of people flocking to the game's download page to provide a one-star review.
"Google, how is this game available in your app store? And then advertised in another game – one that my son can easily play. What do you think this teaches preteen boys about how women should be valued and treated?, " said McWhorter in his video as quoted from METRO, Tuesday, September 21.
McWhorter's video was then flooded with comments from other people who were surprised that this kind of content was available for download. On the Google Play page, one user wrote, "Unplayed, posted, rated and removed. Ads for this are disgusting and promote sexual harassment and rape. Marked as inappropriate for Google", he wrote.
The game which is rated 17+ on the Google Play Store offers addictive gameplay and interactive story as its main selling points. The game appears to be the only app made by Afivad Limited, but a cursory search turns up tons of covert porn simulation games.

Any app that contains pornographic material violates the Google Inappropriate Content policy for the Google Play Store, which states, "We don't allow apps that contain or promote sexual content or profanity, including pornography, or any content or services intended to provide sexual satisfaction", Google wrote in its policy.
For your information, McWhorter and others have demanded that Google remove these and similar games from the Google Play Store, and stop ads showing them appearing in other games and apps. Unfortunately, the tech giant has yet to provide information regarding the game.
