Sandi Calls Banyuwangi An Important Asset For Tourism And Creative Economy Development

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the city of Banyuwangi, East Java, has always been a reference and inspiration for other regions in the development of tourism and the creative economy (parekraf).

He hopes that the existence of the Indonesian Creative Regency/City (KaTa) program can contribute to increasing innovation from entrepreneurship and touching global insights, but wisdom remains local.

"We hope that Banyuwangi's creative economy (creative economy) products can be part of the Proudly Made in Indonesia movement and can open up the widest possible employment opportunities, because 97 percent of the jobs come from MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises)," said Sandiaga in a press release from Antara, Sunday.

The creative sector is a source of inclusive development that is able to support and strengthen cultural identity, creative and innovative ecosystems to create new creative products.

As one of the National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN), he said, Banyuwangi is considered an important asset for tourism and creative economy development.

As is known, the tourism potential in Banyuwangi is said to be widely known, including Ijen Crater, Djawatan, and Pulau Merah.

In addition, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the strengthening of the creative and creative sector which is Banyuwangi's mainstay in addition to tourism potential which is considered to be excellent.

Sandiaga also handed over certificates for recipients of the 2021 Business Safety Nets Government Incentive Assistance (BIP JPU) to five creative and creative actors in Banyuwangi.

"Hopefully this Public Prosecutor's BIP can be useful for creative and creative actors, this year we hope to increase it and it is necessary so that it can generate enthusiasm and optimism to revive the economy and open up the widest possible employment opportunities," he said.
