Police Make Sure The Bang In Senayan Wasn't A Bomb Explosion
JAKARTA - Bhabinkamtibmas officers from Gelora Village confirmed that the booming sound heard by residents in the North Patal Senayan Grogol area, Kemayoran Lama, South Jakarta at around 19.30 WIB, was not a bomb explosion.
Bhabinkamtibmas, Gelora Aiptu Village, Teguh Yulianto, said the boom was the sound of a simulation of VIP PON XX Papua security by the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta.
"Bhabinkabtibmas, Kelurahan Gelora, has provided information to building management and the surrounding community that there are training activities from Paspampres, that's all," said Aiptu Teguh Yulianto, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 17.
Teguh also appealed to the public who heard the booming sound not to worry and speculate.
"People don't need to panic, don't panic," he said.
Previously, a number of residents around Jalan Patal Senayan were shocked by the alleged sound of three explosions.
The sound made several residents around the location shocked.
One of the residents when met on Jalan Patal Senayan, Beni said he heard the sound of the explosion coming from the direction of the GBK Senayan Main Stadium.
"At around 19.30 he heard, there were three explosions like gunshots," said Beni.
Another resident, Ega, said the same thing. However, Ega did not know the origin of the sound of the alleged explosion.
"I was standing and watching, the sound was only a short bang. That's why I was surprised," said Ega.
