COVID-19 Update As Of September 17: 3,835 New Cases, 7,912 Recovered Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 388,292 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 3,835 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,185,144 people and 68,942 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Friday, September 17.
Today's recovered cases increased by 7,912 cases, bringing the total to 3,978,064 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 219 people and a total of 140,138 people.
The province with the newest cases was in East Java with 427 cases and a total of 392,659 cases. Followed by West Java which has 328 new cases with a total of 700,243 cases. Central Java has 265 new cases and a total of 478,785 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 254 new cases and a total of 102,904 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,927 recovered cases. Followed by Central Kalimantan with an additional 712 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 691 recovered cases, and Yogyakarta with an additional 444 recovered cases.
No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 35,924,694.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 4.23 percent", he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 234,397 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 77,417,488 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 44,124,715 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 834,538. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
